Abstract

Learning mathematics is a fundamental part of education and plays a crucial role in the academic and professional development of students. The research aimed to establish the association between the affective bond and the attitude towards mathematics among students in the Education program at the Universidad Nacional Amazónica de Madre de Dios. A descriptive association study was conducted with a sample of 211 participants. The results obtained through the Chi-square test revealed a significant association between the two variables (p < 0.05). It was concluded that a positive affective bond is associated with a more favorable attitude towards mathematics. This suggests that fostering healthy affective relationships and an emotionally supportive environment in the educational context can improve students' attitudes towards mathematics, which in turn could contribute to better academic performance in this subject. Therefore, it is crucial that teachers and educational institutions pay attention to these affective aspects to promote effective and meaningful learning in mathematics.
