English proficiency has become essential for academic and professional development in an increasingly globalized world. This article examines the impact of English language learning in higher education institutions (HEIs) in Ecuador, addressing pedagogical challenges, infrastructure gaps, the need for teacher training, and the opportunities it provides for students and educators. This study explores factors such as curriculum design, student perceptions, and the integration of technologies using a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative and qualitative analyses. The findings reveal that, although most students recognize the importance of English, limitations persist in terms of ineffective teaching methodologies, limited access to modern resources, and insufficient teacher training. This study concludes that an integrated approach is essential to maximize the impact of English learning and enhance the competitiveness of graduates in the global labor market.
