Development of digital competence in foreign language teaching in China

This article examines the limitations of the traditional model of foreign language teaching and analyzes current reform trends, highlighting the importance of developing digital competence in the context of globalization and informatization. This competence involves not only the use of technology to enhance learning, but also skills such as information management, online collaboration, and digital content creation. Its positive impact is reflected in students’ autonomy, the diversification of learning channels, and the promotion of intercultural exchange. In China, strengthening digital competence is key to improving educational quality and cultivating internationally competitive talents. Advancing toward technology-integrated teaching in student-centered digital learning environments is essential.
