Abstract

Today, women are a benchmark of dedication, strength, intelligence, and responsibility, demonstrated by their ability to overcome the adversities imposed by an often unequal and restrictive society. Female academics actively contribute to the development of inclusive curricula, promote research on gender and equity, and lead initiatives aimed at creating more welcoming learning environments and addressing systemic problems in higher education. Female leadership in leadership roles is transforming academic culture toward equity and informed decision-making. Although challenges such as gender discrimination persist, the future of female voices in higher education looks bright. Barriers must be removed and women's contributions must be recognized and celebrated, contributing to a more just and prosperous future for all. For this research, a bibliographic review and data collection were carried out to systematize the main elements that characterize women's participation in higher education. Data were collected from sources such as the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, documents from higher education institutions, government ministries, the OECD, the World Bank, Web of Science, online reports, online observatories, and policy documents, which demonstrated the level of relevance of their content.
