Statistical competencies in university students. A systematic review

The purpose of this systematic review is to present an analysis of statistical competencies in university students. It examines the difficulties faced by students in developing statistical competencies, the predominant attitudes among students towards statistics, and the use of technologies and their influence on the learning of statistics. As a result of the referencing of authors, it is exposed that students present difficulties in understanding fundamental concepts of statistics, which causes problems in practical applications; the attitude of students depends on a great extent on solid knowledge in mathematics, likewise the use of technology for statistics competence which promotes active learning through platforms and software. It is concluded that students' statistical competencies face significant difficulties in understanding fundamental concepts, which highlights the need to implement innovative and active teaching methods, such as the use of technology, in order to improve learning and mitigate students' anxiety.
