Abstract

The research explores the implementation of Design Thinking as a strategy to promote innovation in university learning. This pedagogical approach has gained prominence in Latin America, particularly in countries such as Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico, which face considerable challenges in adopting it due to resistance to change and the lack of teacher training. Through a qualitative analysis of academic literature, previous experiences and case studies are examined, demonstrating how Design Thinking can transform educational processes, fostering key skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving. Despite structural and cultural barriers, the article highlights the potential of this methodology to create more dynamic learning environments, tailored to the demands of the current job market. Strategies for its successful implementation are proposed, focusing on curriculum adaptation and teacher training. The research concludes that Design Thinking has the potential not only to enhance educational quality but also to prepare students to become creative and multifaceted professionals in a globalised world.
