Innovation in prevention management in substantive processes at the University of Cienfuegos
Abstract
The article presented aims to systematize the experiences of prevention management in university substantive processes, as a result of the practice developed at the University of Cienfuegos, by a group of students and researchers from the Faculty of Social Sciences. To this end, the theories, methodologies and practices related to social prevention, risk prevention and health prevention are systematized; that become nuclei of the social innovation processes that are evident in the studies carried out as a result of the coursework, research and extension projects of the “Health Anthropology” research group of the Center for Sociocultural Studies (CESOC). Today, as a result of this research, the description of constant elements and coherences and inconsistencies can be highlighted to improve daily practice; since strategies, programs and actions are provided that can be developed in the Cienfuegos communities, led by the students, teachers and researchers themselves who, as sociocultural actors, maintain transformational leadership and protagonism in local development. Hence the importance of strengthening the link between university and society, reinforcing the transformative impact on society and the environment; contributing increasingly to progress, well-being and sustainable and inclusive human development.
