Abstract

The work presented proposes a strategy for the self-management of the development of the Digital Teaching Competence of the teachers in practice in the National Education System in Cuba. To obtain this result, a mixed approach was used, with research methods of the quantitative and qualitative paradigms, the consultation of a considerable specialized literature adjusted to the investigated topic, as well as the criteria of specialists and experts. The strategy is made up of four stages and uses a self-diagnosis test of the development status of said competence, allowing the teacher to evaluate at all times the level in which he or she is, both in the Digital Teaching Competence in its entirety, as well as in each of its knowledge (Knowing how to understand, Knowing how to do and Knowing how to be) and the dimensions in which it was modeled. The results obtained, both in the simulation of the test used, and in the criteria received from the experts consulted on the strategy developed, reflected a consistent assessment of the proposal made, which shows a successful correspondence of the strategy developed with what is required by the National Education System in Cuba.
