In the teaching-learning process of Physics in the Education of Young People and Adults, inadequacies have been observed in the ability to solve complex problems. The cause of these inadequacies is centered on the lack of a procedure to promote the development of this ability. The objetive of this article is to propose a procedure to use complex problems to contribute to the development of the ability to solve this type of problems in the teaching-learning process of Physics in the Education of Youth and Adults. From a mixed research approach, methods such as analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, systemic approach and pedagogical testing were used. As a result, the procedure to use complex problems with an interdisciplinary focus is presented that respond to real situations of science, technology, society and daily life and are in correspondence with the context of the students.
