The study aimed to analyze the integration of social responsibility in local governments to promote sustainable development through a systematic review of different scientific articles published from virtual libraries such as Scopus and ScienceDirect. The PRISMA model was taken into consideration to know and adequately manage the research results. We sought to answer the research question: What is the impact of social responsibility on Sustainable development? To select from the data, articles belonging to the last seven years (2017 – 2023) and attached to safe and reliable journals were considered. Several criteria were analyzed in the results; which allowed us to conclude that social responsibility is manifested in the commitment to community well-being. It goes beyond complying with legal standards, involving transparency, citizen participation and sustainable practices.
