Organizational communication and administrative management in rural public institutions in the Peruvian amazon

Abstract

This study examines the influence of organizational communication on the administrative management of employees in rural public institutions in the Peruvian Amazon. The Smart PLS-SEM methodology was used to analyze data collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 97 public sector employees in the district of Imaza, Peru. The results show that institutional efficiency is affected by deficiencies in both administrative management and organizational communication. Sixty-nine percent of workers perceive weaknesses in administrative management, particularly 47% in the planning area and 42% in organization. At the communication level, shortcomings are reported in institutional communication channels: 60% in upward communication, 59% in downward communication, 64% in horizontal communication, and 54% in diagonal communication. The PLS-SEM model shows significant relationships between administrative management and its dimensions of planning, leadership, and organization, while control and organizational communication were not significant. In addition, significant relationships were found with downward and upward communication. It is concluded that structural deficiencies in communication limit the effectiveness of institutional management. The critical role of organizational communication in improving institutional performance is highlighted. This study contributes to the limited literature on communication and organizational dynamics in rural areas of developing countries.
