Abstract

The implementation of web systems in agricultural management for small cocoa producers represents a technical and cultural challenge in rural contexts. This study evaluated the impact of a digital platform at Finca 3 Hermanos in Ecuador, analyzing user perceptions, operational changes, and adoption barriers through qualitative methods: semi-structured interviews (n=4), direct observation, and experience mapping. Results showed the system reduced activity recording time by 74.5% (from 47 to 12 minutes) and decreased inventory errors by 72%, validating its utility for process optimization. However, manual practices persisted in 40% of tasks, especially in areas without connectivity, highlighting cultural resistance and infrastructural limitations. Thematic interview analysis identified high valuation in data organization (23 mentions) and technical reliability (19), but also critical needs: ongoing training (16) and contextualized support (14). Triangulation with observation records revealed disparities between declared perceptions (4/5 ease of use) and actual behavior (38% abandonment in advanced features). Experience mapping highlighted satisfaction in basic modules (4.3/5) versus frustrations with loading speed and filter complexity (3/5). These findings underscore that digital tools' effectiveness in agriculture depends on their adaptation to local realities, integrating technical usability with cultural appropriation strategies. The study provides empirical evidence to design inclusive solutions balancing innovation and tradition in the cocoa sector.
