Análisis y comportamiento del mercado automotriz en Ecuador
Keywords:
Vehicles, Import, Rental, Vehicle acquisitionAbstract
The Ecuadorian automotive industry has experienced significant transformations in recent years, influenced by a notable growth in the acquisition of new vehicles in Ecuador. Consequently, this study has been aimed at analyzing the relationships between the transaction modalities (local purchase or direct import) and the types of service (private use or rental) of vehicles registered in Ecuador during 2024. For the analysis of this relationship, a quantitative approach has been used using the chi-square test to evaluate the statistical correlation between the type of transaction and the type of service. The results obtained showed that the majority of the vehicles were acquired through local purchase, with predominant use for private purposes. In fact, the chi-square test revealed a significant correlation between the variables studied, with a p value of 0.027. From these observations, it was concluded that the acquisition modality influences the final use of the vehicle, suggesting that public policies and business strategies should consider this relationship to improve the conditions of the automotive market in Ecuador. In addition, it provides valuable information, guiding future decisions or investigations at both the government and business levels in the automotive sector.
