Abstract

The present study addressed the problem of high staff turnover in the company TVNET LAGO, a situation that directly affects its organizational efficiency. The main objective of the research was to design a competency-based staff recruitment and selection system to reduce turnover and improve staff performance. The study used a qualitative approach, with a descriptive design, and was conducted with 73 employees from various areas of the company. Data were collected through surveys and semi-structured interviews. The results reveal a general acceptance of the need for a competency-based selection system, as well as the importance of experience and training to optimize job performance. The implementation of a competency-based selection system is considered essential to improve organizational efficiency and reduce costs associated with high staff turnover. This study contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the importance of alignment between competencies and job functions in the context of telecommunications companies.
