Identification of guidelines and considerations for the job guidance of people with cognitive disabilities
Abstract
People with varying degrees of cognitive disabilities can perform a wide range of tasks, provided their skills and abilities are not completely limited by these alterations. That is why the research objective is to identify guidelines and considerations for the employment orientation of people with this type of disability. This is expected to contribute to the understanding of the link between functional performance and disability from the perspective of labor inclusion. The research found that 42% of the observed individuals present inadequate functioning of the dorsolateral area, which shows limitations inherent to said cortex, in 34% pathologies related to the anterior prefrontal area were found and in 24% alterations in the cortex were found. The application of the BANFE-3 test in the evaluation of work capacity in individuals with neuropsychological disorders offers significant benefits for making decisions related to employment. The results of this assessment provided detailed information on strengths and weaknesses in executive functions, allowing for personalized career guidance and adaptation of work environments to maximize individuals' career success and satisfaction. Workplaces, in accordance with the legal regulations established to preserve the rights of people with disabilities, must provide adequate treatment and effective support, allowing them to perform meaningfully and successfully in the work environment.
