Abstract

Perceived quality of care is a strategic indicator for guiding health system management and resource allocation, as it reflects user satisfaction and expectations. In this context, the research problem focused on determining whether there are differences in the assessment of the care received by users of Dr. Elio Ochoa Maldonado's Infectious Diseases Clinic according to the type of funder. The overall objective was to evaluate the influence of the type of payer on the quality of care perceived by users. A cross-sectional, non-experimental, correlational study with a quantitative approach was implemented. The SERVQUAL scale was applied to 84 patients selected through probabilistic sampling. The results showed high agreement in diagnostic clarity (77.4%) and humane treatment (83.3%). Correlations (Tau-b > 0.800) revealed links between treatment received, professional training, financing, and needs covered. It is concluded that perceived quality is consolidated as a multidimensional construct, capable of guiding the management and improvement of specialized care services.
