Abstract

The current global economic situation necessitates the establishment of strategies by organizations to avoid being affected in the present and near future. Strategic planning reinforces its potential as a basic pillar, allowing organizations to achieve their objectives in a highly competitive and versatile context. Furthermore, companies must integrate social and environmental responsibility into their goals to ensure their long-term viability. The present research aims to determine criteria for comparing strategic planning models for organizations, which will enhance competitiveness, sustainability, social and environmental responsibility, as well as business profitability. A qualitative approach was taken, considering methodologies that seek to align organizational strategy. Six criteria were established based on the application of the Pareto Diagram. A comparison matrix was established for the four selected strategic planning models, which allowed for the identification of similarities, differences, and critical points. The selection of the strategic planning model or the combination of models, adapted to the realities of the organization, will not only increase profits but also recognition by society. Strategic planning contributes to positioning organizations in the market in a sustainable, competitive manner, with respect for the environment and the social realities of their surroundings.
