In transcomplex contexts, characterized by high interconnectedness and dynamism, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) takes on a strategic dimension. Regardless of their distinctive characteristics, companies must adopt a holistic perspective that considers not only internal factors, but also the complex interactions with the social, economic and ecological environment in which they operate directly or indirectly. In this sense, the aim of this research was to discuss the scope and meaning of CSR in transcomplex environments, identifying the challenges and opportunities that these scenarios present for companies. From this objective, some philosophical questions arise, such as: How can CSR contribute to the balance between economic development and environmental sustainability? And is it possible to harmonize corporate interests with social needs in a globalized context? In order to answer these questions, a hermeneutic documentary-based methodology was used, based on the critical interpretation of texts of proven scientific value published in high-impact international journals. It is concluded that, in the digital era, companies face substantial challenges in implementing effective CSR, highlighting the digital divide as a major concern that threatens to deepen existing social inequalities.
