Abstract

Academic networks are important to increase the results of academic and scientific exchange, particularly those derived from research, development and innovation in correspondence with the management of substantive university processes. For this reason, a study was carried out to analyze the results of the University of Cienfuegos, a partner institution of the Ibero-American Environmental Network. The information obtained by searching for key terms in web tools was used, taking into consideration two indicators, the first one the visibility and the second one the scientific prestige. Emphasis is placed on the number of visits to the network's web platform, as well as the tracking of links to the University's postgraduate programs, also on the number of visualizations of the conferences and works published by the University of Cienfuegos professors in social network channels and other dissemination platforms used by the network. Among the main results, we can show that it was possible to increase the visibility of the research results of professors, in addition to six postgraduate programs and the University and Society magazine, which is a consortium with the network. The improvement in the university's position in the Webometrics ranking, as well as the increase in its prestige, supports its published results, the accreditations certificates for participation in the preparation of the network's series of events and the participation of professors in these academic and scientific spaces.
