Social security is fundamental to guarantee the economic and social rights of people, especially those in vulnerable situations such as disabilities. Therefore, this research focused on evaluating the limits of retirement contributions for people with disabilities in Ecuador and their impact on their quality of life. A descriptive approach was used with qualitative and quantitative methods, including surveys of a sample of 20 legal professionals with disabilities affiliated with the IESS. The results show widespread dissatisfaction with retirement requirements, which are considered unattainable and disconnected from the work reality of these people. Despite constitutional guarantees, current regulations perpetuate social exclusion. In conclusion, the need to reform the legal framework is highlighted to facilitate access to adequate retirements, thus promoting inclusion and respect for the rights of people with disabilities in Ecuador.
