Importance of logistics in the e-commerce supply chain
Abstract
E-commerce has revolutionized global transactions, with the United States leading the way, highlighting the importance of logistics in this process. The research analyzes the effectiveness of logistics providers in the United States in improving the e-commerce process. Using a mixed research approach, inductive/deductive and analytical/scientific methods were employed, along with a non-experimental design. The results show that logistics affects customer experience and operational efficiency in e-commerce. The main purchase motives include convenience, flexibility, and ease of comparison shopping. The majority prefer 2-3 days delivery. Areas for logistical improvement were identified, such as clear shipping policies and secure delivery options. It is concluded that logistics is fundamental to the success of e-commerce, directly influencing customer satisfaction, business competitiveness and consumer loyalty to e-commerce platforms.
