Effective tax risk management in cargo consolidation companies in Guayaquil requires a strategic approach based on advance planning and rigorous internal controls that strengthen VAT compliance, reduce errors, penalties and improve tax sustainability. The problem identified in this study was how to reduce tax risks in freight consolidation companies in Guayaquil. The objective was to design VAT compliance strategies that mitigate these risks. To achieve this, a mixed approach with systemic and statistical methods was used, conducting surveys of financial and tax personnel at companies dedicated to providing this logistics service. The results revealed that most companies perform monthly VAT reconciliations, use specialized software, and have internal control policies. However, manual practices and a lack of strategies in some areas persist. It is concluded that integrating technological tools, ongoing training, and specialized consulting can strengthen tax management and reduce tax risks, promoting sustainability and corporate reputation.
