Resumen

CIENCIA, CONCIENCIA Y SOSTENIBILIDAD PALABRAS CLAVES PARA NUESTRAS PUBLICACIONES EN EL 2023

 EDITORIAL

 El año 2023, la revista “Universidad y Sociedad” cumple su décimo quinto aniversario, trataremos en esta editorial de exponer, lo que, a criterio de nuestro Consejo Editorial, son las prioridades de publicación y en consecuencia tendrá una debida preferencia.

Consideramos que nuestra revista ha llegado al prestigio y madurez necesaria para ayudar a la solución de los principales dilemas que atañen a la universidad y sociedad de hoy, principalmente de América Latina, mediante la difusión de los tres problemas que, a nuestro criterio, deben conformar y proyectar el pensamiento intelectual contemporáneo: la ciencia, la conciencia y la sostenibilidad.

La ciencia en nuestros días, aunque se perfilan avances científicos sin precedentes, requiere un debate democrático, vigoroso y bien fundado sobre la producción y la aplicación del saber científico que enfrente los problemas éticos, sociales, culturales, ambientales, de equilibrio entre ambos sexos, económicos y sanitarios, mediante estudios interdisciplinarios que tengan en cuenta la complejidad del mundo en que vivimos. La revista divulgará la función que desempeñan las ciencias sociales, en que estamos autorizados a publicar, en el análisis de las transformaciones relacionadas con los adelantos científicos y tecnológicos y en la búsqueda de soluciones a los problemas que esos procesos generan. Se defenderá en todo momento el concepto ciencia abierta como un movimiento que fomenta que las investigaciones científicas, metodologías y datos obtenidos puedan ser distribuidas, reutilizadas y accesibles por todos los niveles de la sociedad de forma gratuita y libre.

Publicar buena ciencia, implica generar conocimiento que propenda al bien común, implica ser conscientes de nuestras propias limitaciones sobre el entendimiento que tenemos de la verdad tras un fenómeno particular y de los intereses propios que nos motivan a su estudio. Por ello damos preferencia a las publicaciones que traten la relación ciencia conciencia y que sean capaces sobre bases históricas concretas y con una filosofía ecléctica, esclarecer un grupo de ideas que justifiquen el nexo de las distintas manifestaciones del pensamiento en lo político, filosófico, económico, social, pedagógico, ético y estético.

Aunque el saber científico ha dado lugar a notables innovaciones sumamente beneficiosas para la humanidad, también es cierto que ha provocado deterioro del medio ambiente con problemas de contaminación globales, regionales y locales de incalculables consecuencias para el planeta. El desarrollo sostenible exige un proceso de divulgación y utilizar los mejores conocimientos científicos y tradicionales disponibles, para poner freno a estos complejos problemas. Las sociedades se ven y se verán cada vez más profundamente afectadas por procesos como el cambio climático, la pérdida de biodiversidad, la escasez de agua dulce, la mala gestión de los desechos, la degradación de la tierra y la contaminación atmosférica urbana. Nuestra revista dará prioridad a los artículos que traten de entender cómo funcionan los complejos sistemas físicos, biológicos y sociales, y como apoyar las políticas sostenibles y las transformaciones sociales positivas que favorecen los cambios ambientales, de manera positiva, mediante estilos de vida, tecnologías y prácticas sociales inclusivas y sostenibles.

En fin, la razón de ser de la revista es destacar la interacción e interpretación entre la alusión a la realidad vivida y el ideal que se desprende de ella, creando ideas de transformación que nos lleven a un núcleo temático del conocimiento que integre la interacción entre ciencia, conciencia y sostenibilidad en el marco de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible planteados por la Naciones Unidas para el 2030.

Como siempre ponemos a debate de nuestros lectores estos elementos, y exhortamos a que nos envíen sus contribuciones las cuales serán valoradas y publicadas las mejores con la calidad que se merecen nuestros usuarios.

 SCIENCE, AWARENESS AND SUSTAINABILITY KEY WORDS FOR OUR PUBLICATIONS IN 2023

 In 2023, the magazine "Universidad y Sociedad" celebrates its fifteenth anniversary, we will try in this editorial to expose what, in the opinion of our Editorial Board, are the publication priorities and consequently will have due preference.

We believe that our journal has reached the prestige and maturity necessary to help solve the main dilemmas that concern today's university and society, mainly in Latin America, by disseminating the three problems that, in our opinion, should form and project contemporary intellectual thought: science, consciousness and sustainability.

Science in our days, although unprecedented scientific advances are taking shape, requires a democratic, vigorous and well-founded debate on the production and application of scientific knowledge that faces ethical, social, cultural, environmental problems, balance between both sexes, economic and health, through interdisciplinary studies that take into account the complexity of the world in which we live. The journal will disclose the role played by the social sciences, in which we are authorized to publish, in the analysis of the transformations related to scientific and technological advances and in the search for solutions to the problems that these processes generate. The open science concept will be defended at all times as a movement that encourages scientific research, methodologies and data obtained to be freely distributed, reused and accessible by all levels of society.

Publishing good science implies generating knowledge that tends to the common good, implies being aware of our own limitations on the understanding we have of the truth behind a particular phenomenon and of our own interests that motivate us to study it. For this reason, we give preference to publications that deal with the science-consciousness relationship and that are capable, on concrete historical bases and with an eclectic philosophy, clarify a group of ideas that justify the nexus of the different manifestations of thought in the political, philosophical, economic, social, pedagogical, ethical and aesthetic.

Although scientific knowledge has given rise to notable innovations that are highly beneficial to humanity, it is also true that it has caused environmental deterioration with global, regional and local pollution problems of incalculable consequences for the planet. Sustainable development requires a dissemination process and the use of the best scientific and traditional knowledge available to curb these complex problems. Societies are and will be increasingly profoundly affected by processes such as climate change, biodiversity loss, freshwater scarcity, waste mismanagement, land degradation, and urban air pollution. Our journal will give priority to articles that try to understand how complex physical, biological and social systems work, and how to support sustainable policies and positive social transformations that favor environmental changes, in a positive way, through lifestyles, technologies and inclusive and sustainable social practices.

In short, the raison d'être of the magazine is to highlight the interaction and interpretation between the allusion to lived reality and the ideal that emerges from it, creating transformation ideas that lead us to a thematic core of knowledge that integrates the interaction between science, awareness and sustainability within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations for 2030.
