This article analyzes the dictionary part of the medieval work “Kitab al-idrak li-lisan al-atrak” by Asireddin Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi, which holds a special place among classical Turkic dictionaries. The morphological structure of the words in the dictionary was taken as a basis, and mainly correction words were involved in the analysis. The vast majority of the words in the dictionary are of simple Turkish (Azerbaijani) origin, some of which are used in the same meaning in modern Azerbaijani, while some have become archaic over time and have passed into the passive vocabulary fund. As a result of the analysis, it is revealed that the suffixes and morphemes in those words are fully consistent with the structure of our modern language. In addition, the dictionary also includes words of Arabic and Persian origin, many of which are still in use today. The article emphasizes that the dictionary is not only a lexical but also an important source in terms of historical and linguistics.
