Abstract

The research titled «Technical Diagnosis of the Start in Weightlifters from the EIDE “Hector Ruiz Perez” of Villa Clara» focused on the biomechanical analysis of Weightlifting in the school category of the Sports Initiation School (EIDE) "Hector Ruiz Perez" in Villa Clara, Cuba. The main objective of this study was to identify technical faults in the execution of the start in weightlifters, and a kinematic approach was used to analyze the different phases of the start, including the trajectory of the barbell in the clean and jerk, as well as the angular variations of the different levers of the body. The results of the research showed that athletes in the 13-14 school category have technical difficulties in the execution of Weightlifting, which translates into errors in the placement of the limbs when lifting and in the lack of control of the weight's stability in the air. These errors are common in athletes with little technical experience and who are at a semi-polished level. Identifying these technical deficiencies and implementing appropriate training programs can have a significant impact on the performance of athletes in Weightlifting. Improving technique can increase the effectiveness of the movement, resulting in better performance in competition and a reduction in the risk of injuries.
