Abstract

Artificial Intelligence represents a fundamental pillar for most companies globally and one of the main topics of study is the impact on business. This research analyzes the scientific production on the impact of artificial intelligence on business using bibliometric methods. Metadata of 917 documents published in the Scopus database between 1985 and 2025 were analyzed. The results show an expanding field since 2009, with exponential growth since 2010, led by authors from India, China, Italy, United Kingdom in specialized journals such as Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, Sustainability, Procedia Computer Science, Contribution to Management Science, Studies in Computational Intelligence. The scientific mapping identified circular economy, business analytics and AI applications in marketing as central themes, revealing the emphasis on studying institutionalization in companies. The results show an emerging academic community dedicated to the study of the impact of AI in business, with previous influential contributions, which should continue to deepen.
