Nature tourism as a new economic alternative in the “La Melba sector” Moa municipality - Holguín

Currently, tourism worldwide is considered a strategic sector that contributes to the development and social and economic competitiveness of countries. Among some of the types of tourism that exist, nature tourism stands out, which has become alternative tourism. The objective of this work is to propose initiatives to promote nature tourism in the protected area: Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, “La Melba Sector”, which operates with guarantees in the natural and cultural heritage. The observation technique and the documentary analysis method related to the characterization of the area under study are applied. As a result, tourist activities are proposed that allow nature tourism to be promoted as a new economic alternative for the territory.
