Abstract

Strengthening innovative activity, today, means an increase in productivity, technological development, job creation and improvement of living conditions. Based on this, the documents approved for the conceptualization of the Cuban Economic and Social Development Model, place tourism activity as a strategic sector, calling for the role of science, technology and innovation to be placed in the foreground in all instances. , so that they play a major role in increasing efficiency, effectiveness and productivity in all spheres of society. This research was carried out with the objective of designing science and technological innovation strategies for the tourism sector of the Cienfuegos destination, with a view to promoting its positioning as an innovative destination. To achieve the objective, different research methods and tools were combined, such as interviews, observation and specialist criteria, and other quality management tools were also used: Ishikawa diagram and the 5(W) and 1((W) technique. H); all of which made it possible to achieve the expected results with the design of the aforementioned strategies whose actions respond to the business interest of achieving excellence in tourist services.
