Abstract

This research article reflects on the importance of renewable energy for national security, taking into account the volatility of oil prices and their influence on the hydrocarbon market as a primary energy source. It highlights the advances that renewable energy technologies have made at the national level and the role they play in energy independence and environmental impact mitigation. New technologies and the use of renewable energy sources are a priority, an indispensable element par excellence, and a support that will reduce dependence on fossil fuels and thus contribute to environmental sustainability and, consequently, its impact on national security. The importance of renewable energy for national security is reflected upon, taking into account the volatility of oil prices and their influence on the hydrocarbon market as a primary energy source. The future of renewable energy is driven by profitability. This document serves as a supporting and complementary resource for teachers' work in self-preparing students and professors in the subject of National Security and, consequently, in the discipline itself.
