Methodology for the re-motorization of heavy vehicles. Case study
Abstract
Energy efficiency in the transportation of cargo and passengers by road is an essential requirement for achieving profitability in the transportation process. Given the deterioration of the parameters that define vehicle performance with the development of prolonged periods of operation, re-motorization stands as one of the measures that makes it possible to achieve output parameters similar to the originals and raise performance to higher levels.
To achievethis, it is required to evaluate the re-motorization proposals with indicator sthat reliably show the impact of the propose dengine on the output indicators and a methodology that condenses the fundamental steps to achieveit. The objective of this article is to show the above based on a case study.
