Quality of life and mental health in the child population of the province of Los Ríos

Abstract

Mental health is a feeling of psychological well-being that accompanies people at all stages of the life cycle, especially important in childhood and adolescence during the formation of appropriate behaviors in the family and community context; Hence, it already constitutes a priority for authorities and health services. The objective of this research is to know the perception of the children's population in the province of Los Ríos about their mental health, emotional well-being and quality of life. The mixed approach and descriptive scope were used, with a cross-sectional non-experimental design. The results show a predominance of levels of satisfaction in terms of quality of life, health and other areas of life; however, it is necessary to address the minority of said child population that expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of life, and the presence of risk factors. risk. psychosocial, generators of mental health problems such as stress, adaptation to changes, social isolation, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and the sense of belonging to the group, which justifies the urgency of effective interventions by of authorities. to improve the well-being of vulnerable individuals, particularly this age group.
