Educación intercultural bilingüe y derechos lingüísticos de los pueblos indígenas de Ecuador

Abstract

En el presente estudio se aborda un análisis del surgimiento e implementación de la educación intercultural bilingüe en Ecuador enfatizando en los principales logros y dificultades que aún persisten y que por tanto se constituyen en metas no logradas, precisamente desde la propia concepción de interculturalidad. Se realizó un estudio documental desde una perspectiva cualitativa. Como resultados se recogen datos que evidencian la sensible pérdida de los idiomas ancestrales en el país, lo cual constituye una alerta, que reclama la necesidad urgente de mejorar este importante tipo de educación.

ABSTRACT

The present study addresses an analysis of the emergence and implementation of intercultural bilingual education in Ecuador, emphasizing the main achievements and difficulties that persist and that therefore constitute unachieved goals, precisely from the very conception of interculturality. A documentary study was carried out from a qualitative perspective. The results show that the country has lost a significant number of its ancestral languages, which is a warning sign that there is an urgent need to improve this important type of education.
