Presupuestos teóricos que desde la sociología sustentan los estudios de juventud, ruralidad y consumo de tecnologías

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo fundamentar los presupuestos sociológicos que sustentan los estudios de juventud, ruralidad y consumo de tecnologías, con la finalidad de identificar las connotaciones científicas que brindan para para el desarrollo de proyectos de investigación que relacionen estas temáticas. Lo novedoso respecto al estudio de los rasgos que caracterizan a estas prácticas de consumo en el contexto rural, es que implican la consideración de determinadas y diversas dimensiones para el análisis de las mismas. Del análisis de los referentes teóricos revisados se puede concluir que el acceso y uso de las TIC ha ido en aumento en la sociedad cubana, siendo este fenómeno más frecuente en la juventud como grupo social, lo cual está transformando y determinando sus identidades tanto individuales como colectivas. El acercamiento a este tema implica, para los estudios rurales, la posibilidad de profundizar su capacidad de análisis y multiplicar su papel de instrumento científico en la aplicación de las políticas públicas.

ABSTRACT

The present paper has as an objective the establishment of the sociological assumptions that support the studies of youth, rurality and the consumption of technologies, in order to identify the scientific connotations related to the development of the current research project. The new aspect related to the study of the traits that characterizes these consumer practices in the rural context, is that they imply the consideration of certain and diverse dimensions for their analysis. From the theoretical point of view, it can be concluded that the access and use of ICTs has been increasing in Cuban society, this phenomenon can be represented with more frequency in youth as a social group, leading at the transformation and determination of their collective identities. The approach to this issue implies, for rural studies, the possibility of deepening in the capacity for analysis and multiplying this role as a scientific instrument in the establishment of public policies.
