La significación del contexto para la formación y asimilación de conceptos matemáticos. Principios básicos

Abstract

La formación y asimilación de conceptos matemáticos es un objetivo esencial de la matemática en cualquier nivel de enseñanza. En este trabajo se analiza la importancia del contexto en la formación y asimilación de los conceptos matemáticos. Si se toma en consideración que la motivación es un factor fundamental para despertar el interés hacia el aprendizaje en los estudiantes, resulta apropiado construir los conceptos a partir de situaciones problemáticas reales, familiares, relacionadas con el contexto donde el estudiante vive y se desenvuelve. Aprender un concepto en diferentes contextos ofrece mayores posibilidades para que estos puedan aplicarlos a situaciones de la vida práctica.

ABSTRACT

The formation and assimilation of mathematical concepts is the mathematics essential objective in any teaching level. In this work the importance of the context is analyzed in the formation and assimilation of the mathematical concepts. If it is considered that the motivation is a fundamental factor to stir up the interest towards the learning in the students, it is appropriate to build the concepts starting from problematic real family situations, related with the context where the student lives and is unwrapped. To learn a concept in different contexts where they are used offers bigger possibilities so that they can apply them to situations of the practical life.
