Consumo de alcohol: perspectiva de mujeres habitantes de colonias populares del Sur de México

Resumen

La población femenina ha incrementado considerablemente el consumo de alcohol debido a la necesidad de explorar y buscar nuevas sensaciones o experiencias significativas. El significado de la ingesta de bebidas embriagantes en las mujeres ha evolucionado en los últimos años, siendo la principal influencia la necesidad de sentirse dentro de un grupo social o simplemente por factores depresivos. El Objetivo del artículo es Explorar el significado del consumo de alcohol desde la perspectiva de mujeres habitantes de colonias populares del sur de México. Se realizó un Estudio no experimental, transversal, descriptivo, con enfoque cualitativo se utilizó el Interaccionismo Simbólico para la comprensión del significado que las mujeres le atribuyen al consumo de alcohol, se utilizó una guía de preguntas cualitativas, la fuente de datos fue el grupo focal, la población de interés estuvo constituida por mujeres entre 19 a 57 años de edad, el muestreo fue teórico. Se pudo determinar que cada mujer le atribuye un significado diferente al consumo de alcohol, el cual está relacionado principalmente con las actitudes, motivos, interacción social y efectos secundarios, se identificaron cuatro categorías que fueron la actitud, los motivos, la interacción social y los efectos secundarios, cada una con sus respectivas subcategorías. Las Conclusiones sirvieron de base a los hallazgos del presente estudio, podrán ser la base del cuidado de Enfermería en la prevención de adicciones, mediante el establecimiento de intervenciones específicas que contribuyan a fomentar hábitos de vida saludables.

ABSTRACT

The female population has considerably increased alcohol consumption due to the need to explore and seek new sensations or significant experiences. The meaning of the ingestion of intoxicating beverages in women has evolved in recent years, the main influence being the need to feel within a social group or simply due to depressive factors. The Objective is To explore the meaning of alcohol consumption from the perspective of women living in popular neighborhoods in southern Mexico. Non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, Symbolic Interactionism was used to understand the meaning that women attribute to alcohol consumption, a qualitative question guide was used, the data source was the group focal point, the population of interest consisted of women between 19 and 57 years of age, the sampling was theoretical. It was possible to determine that each woman attributes a different meaning to alcohol consumption, which is mainly related to attitudes, motives, social interaction and secondary effects, four categories were identified that were attitude, motives, social interaction and side effects, each with their respective subcategories. The findings of this study may be the basis of Nursing care in the prevention of addictions, through the establishment of specific interventions that contribute to promoting healthy lifestyles.
