Seguridad alimentaria familiar: apuntes sociológicos para lograr sistemas alimentarios locales inclusivos, municipio Santiago de Cuba

Resumen

La seguridad alimentaria familiar (SAF) ocupa un lugar importante en el desarrollo local, pues es resultado de la gestión de políticas públicas dirigidas a lograr sistemas alimentarios locales (SAL) más inclusivos. Sin embargo, alcanzar la SAF representa, en la actualidad, un reto innegable para nuestro país en los marcos del Plan Nacional de Desarrollo Económico y Social hacia el 2030. En tal sentido, el objetivo de la presente contribución se dirige a valorar la importancia del análisis sociológico a la SAF en función de alcanzar SAL inclusivos. La investigación se apoyó en la metodología cualitativa y cuantitativa, utilizando las técnicas de la observación científica y el cuestionario.En el contexto cubano actual, el impacto de la pandemia en el acceso, estabilidad, disponibilidad y producción alimentaria a nivel local, evidencia la necesidad de implementar estrategias que permitan no solo fortalecer el vínculo familia-estructura de oportunidades, sino también prácticas sociales adecuadas en torno al uso, distribución y consumo de alimentos al interior de las familias. Lo anterior se evidencia, por ejemplo: en el impacto que sufren las dietas en los hogares con la caída de los ingresos, mayores gastos en la compra de alimentos, así como la adquisición de alimentos menos nutritivos.

ABSTRACT

Family food security (SAF) occupies an important place in local development, as it is the result of the management of public policies aimed at achieving more inclusive local food systems (SAL). However, achieving SAF currently represents an undeniable challenge for our country within the framework of the National Plan for Economic and Social Development towards 2030. In this sense, the objective of this contribution is aimed at assessing the importance of sociological analysis to SAF in terms of achieving inclusive SAL. The research was supported by qualitative and quantitative methodology, using the techniques of scientific observation and the questionnaire. In the current Cuban context, the impact of the pandemic on access, stability, availability and food production at the local level shows the need to implement strategies that allow not only to strengthen the family-opportunity structure link, but also appropriate social practices in around the use, distribution and consumption of food within families. The foregoing is evidenced, for example: in the impact suffered by diets in households with the fall in income, higher expenses in the purchase of food, as well as the acquisition of less nutritious food.
