Ciencia y tecnología en Cienfuegos

Abstract

RESUMEN

El triunfo de la revolución en 1959  marcó el inicio de profundos cambios en todas las esferas de la vida social cubana. Impulsó el desarrollo de actividades productivas e investigativas en función de un desarrollo social partiendo de la consideración que lo acumulado hasta ese momento en materia de científicos, especialistas, instituciones, tradiciones, entre otros elementos, era abrumadoramente insuficiente. La implementación de una política de desarrollo científico tecnológica en el contexto cienfueguero, tiene una proyección peculiar. Su realización respondió no solo a objetivos económicos y sociales, sino también a condiciones naturales, específicas de la región. El presente trabajo forma parte de una investigación que aborda este proceso, así como los riesgos y beneficios que se generan en  la región en las primeras décadas después del triunfo de la revolución hasta el derrumbe del campo socialista.

ABSTRACT

The triumph of the Revolution in 1959 marked the begining of deep changes in all the spheres of the social life in Cuba. It drove the development of productive and investigative activities towards a social development, starting from the idea that of was acumulated up to that moment in refernce to scientists, specialists, institutuions and traditions, among other elements, was overwhelming insufficient. The implementation of a scientific-technological policy in this context, has a peculiar projection in the region of Cienfuegos. Its development answered not only to economic and social goals, but also to natural conditions of that specific area. This work is part of a research that deals with this process as well as the risks and benefits emerging in the region  from  the first decades after the revolutionary triumph to the collapse of the socialist field.
