Protected Justice: Support for Justice Administrators in Ecuador
Abstract
Judges should be free to make decisions without interference or instructions from other organs of the state, thus ensuring that the law is applied fairly and objectively. The objective of this research is to analyze the importance of the legal figure of faceless judges in Ecuador, as protection of judges, against the actions of criminal organizations in Ecuador. The research was qualitative, with a non-experimental, descriptive design. Documentary analysis and an interview guide applied to justice administrators were used. Categories of analysis were established. It was determined that it is necessary to implement a protection system for judges and, as far as possible, the figure of faceless judges for cases of criminal organizations. By protecting those who administer justice, institutions are strengthened and a safer environment is promoted both for justice professionals and for society as a whole.
