Abstract

The objective of this scientific article was to propose an instrument for measuring the work environment that incorporates the particularities of the administrative and operational organization of a surface unit. Methodologically, it has a mixed approach (qualitative in the collective inquiry and understanding of reality and quantitative using interviews with experts and surveys of the study population), non-experimental design with a descriptive-correlational scope. The study population was the crew of the Guayas Training Ship between 2022 and 2023. As a result, it was determined that: the perception of the work situation of a work group and its satisfaction are related to the organization and the results that are sought to be obtained; the dimension of Leadership is inherent and mandatory for the measurement of the work environment in a military institution such as the Navy of Ecuador, as well as for the measurement of the work environment, it is necessary that the dimensioning and the factors are aligned and respond to the guidelines of the current legal framework. It is concluded that: the relationship between factors of the proposed sizing with the military principles, values, qualities, and virtues established in the Organic Law of Personnel and Discipline of the Armed Forces must be identified.
