Professional Development of Primary School Teachers on Technological Resources in the Dominican Republic: Current Challenges
Abstract
ABSTRACTThe aim of the research was to systematize the theoretical and practical elements related to the professional development of primary school teachers in the Dominican Republic with respect to the use of technological resources in teaching. A documentary analysis was conducted through a systematic bibliographic review in databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and SciELO, covering publications from 2017 to 2024. The results highlighted the importance of continuous professional development and the need for adequate infrastructure for the effective integration of technological resources. It was concluded that, despite existing policies, challenges such as resistance to change persist. Additionally, while there are policies and training programs in place, it is crucial to intensify and adapt these professional development processes to the specific needs of the local context, ensuring that teaching meets the challenges of the digital age. Therefore, it is recommended to further develop teachers and ensure the availability of technological resources in schools.
