Multicultural education and its impact on learning in Basic Education students
Abstract
Research on multicultural education and its impact on learning focuses on how cultural diversity in the educational environment can influence the teaching-learning process. It refers to an educational approach that recognizes and values cultural diversity, promoting the inclusion of different perspectives and experiences in the curriculum. In this sense, the study emphasizes that the implementation of inclusive and culturally sensitive pedagogical practices has significant benefits for both students and teachers. Therefore, it is essential that teachers have training in intercultural competencies to create an inclusive and fair educational environment. The objective of this research is to explore the impact of multicultural education on the learning of 5th year basic education students at the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit. The benefits of incorporating diverse cultural elements into the curriculum by teachers are analyzed, as well as pedagogical methodologies that encourage the active participation of all students, regardless of their cultural background. Additionally, it seeks to identify the challenges that educators face when implementing this approach and the strategies that can be used to overcome them. Under this line, a qualitative and quantitative approach will be used, which will allow a deep and contextualized analysis, identifying patterns, trends and significant relationships to better understand the impact of multiculturalism on educational dynamics.
