Web system for sowing and harvest control of banana cultivation, application: Finca Santa Rosa

Authors

Abstract

This research focuses on the development of a web system designed specifically for the control of sowing and harvesting of banana crops at the Santa Rosa Farm. Given the need to improve the efficiency and management of agricultural processes, problems were identified related to the lack of information in real time, difficulty in monitoring activities and the need to optimize resources.

The proposed system aims to centralize information related to the banana cultivation cycle, from land preparation to harvest. To this end, various functionalities were implemented, such as recording planting dates, monitoring plant growth, input control, and scheduling harvest activities. Surveys and interviews were carried out with 30 farm workers and managers to understand their needs and expectations. In addition, pilot tests were carried out that allowed the system to be adjusted to real working conditions and obtain feedback on its usability.

Preliminary results indicate that the use of the web system improves communication between team members, facilitates informed decision making and allows for more rigorous monitoring of agricultural activities. The implementation of the system could contribute to increasing the productivity and sustainability of banana cultivation, generating a positive impact on the agricultural management of the farm.
