Confección de prótesis dental total. Estudio de caso

Abstract

Realizar una adecuada prótesis dental requiere de una serie de pasos que el profesional debe dominar. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue describir los pasos que se realizan para una correcta dentadura dental total que devuelva las funciones del sistema estomatognático. Se realizó un estudio de caso de una paciente que acude a consulta con pérdida total de sus órganos dentales superiores e inferiores. Como conclusión la paciente fue rehabilitada con dos prótesis mejorando considerablemente su estética y función masticatoria.

ABSTRACT

Performing an adequate dental prosthesis requires a series of steps that the professional should master. The objective of the present investigation was to describe the steps that are carried out for a correct total denture that restores the functions of the stomatognathic system. A case study was made of a patient who came for consultation with total loss of her upper and lower dental organs. In conclusion, the patient was rehabilitated with two prostheses, considerably improving her esthetics and masticatory function.
