Ansiedad, miedo y percepción de riesgo ante la covid-19 en universitarios voluntarios a zona roja

Resumen

El personal que labora en Zona Roja o primera línea de atención durante la COVID-19, constituye un grupo propenso al contagio y vulnerable a la manifestación de reacciones psicológicas displacenteras. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue explorar las reacciones de ansiedad, miedo y la percepción de riesgo ante la COVID-19 en estudiantes voluntarios a Zona Roja en la Universidad Central Marta Abreu de Las Villas. Se empleó un diseño cuantitativo, transversal y descriptivo mediante encuestas, en 67 participantes. Se emplearon The Coronavirus Anxiety Scale, The Fear of COVID-19 Scale, y la Escala de Percepción de Riesgo. El procesamiento se realizó usando SPSS-25/Windows, a partir de análisis de frecuencias, tablas de contingencia, y la Tau-b de Kendall. Se encontraron índices bajos de ansiedad, índices moderados de miedo, y altos niveles de percepción de riesgo. Reviste esencial importancia la preparación de los estudiantes en herramientas vinculadas con la percepción de riesgo; en cómo enfrentar un entorno adverso desde conductas resilientes; y herramientas efectivas en el manejo de la ansiedad y el estrés.

ABSTRACT

People who work in the Red Zone or the first line of care during COVID-19, constitute a group prone to contagion and vulnerable to the manifestation of unpleasant psychological reactions. The objective of this study was to explore the reactions of anxiety, fear and the perception of risk to COVID-19 in student volunteers at the Red Zone at the Central University Marta Abreu de Las Villas. It was used a quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive design through surveys, in 67 participants. The Coronavirus Anxiety Scale, The Fear of COVID-19 Scale, and the Risk Perception Scale were used. The processing was carried out using SPSS-25 / Windows, from frequency analysis, contingency tables, and Kendall's Tau-b. Low levels of anxiety, moderate levels of fear, and high levels of risk perception were found. The preparation of students in tools related to the perception of risk is essential; on how to face an adverse environment from resilient behaviors; and effective tools in the management of anxiety and stress.
