Investigación científica y formación académica en el Centro de Estudios de Producción Animal de Granma

Resumen

Los centros de estudio se han convertido en estructuras imprescindibles para el desarrollo de las universidades cubanas dada su responsabilidad con la investigación científica, el posgrado y la solución de problemas, sobre todo del sector productivo. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo caracterizar las líneas y temas de investigación del Centro de Estudios de Producción Animal de la Universidad de Granma, discutir los principales resultados obtenidos en el proceso de formación de doctores y master, ilustrando la integración existente entre los procesos de investigación y formación. Las líneas y temas de investigación del centro han sido objeto de un perfeccionamiento continuo, lo que ha favorecido la respuesta a las demandas de la producción animal en el territorio, se ha concentrado el trabajo en la producción y utilización de pastos y forrajes y en la evaluación y producción de alimentos y aditivos. Se han formado doctores en la modalidad tutelar y se desarrolla la Maestría en Nutrición Animal. Se evidencia adecuada integración entre los procesos de investigación y formación lo que favorece el buen desempeño de ambas actividades.

ABSTRACT

Study centers have become essential structures for the development of Cuban universities, given their responsibility with scientific research, post graduate studies and problem solving, especially in the productive sector. This paper aims to characterize the lines and themes of research at the Study Center of Animal Production of the Granma University, and discuss the main results obtained in the process of formation of doctors and master, illustrating the integration between the processes of research and formation. Lines and research topics of the center have undergone continuous improvement, which has favored the response to the demands of animal production in the territory, focusing work on the production and use of pasture and forage and evaluation and production of feeds and additives. 15 doctors have been formed using tutelary, standing out among the results the use of pasture and forage grasses and legumes in ruminants. 120 masters have been formed through the Master of Animal Nutrition, standing out among the results the use of pasture and forage legumes in sheep, flours leaves and stems in rabbits and protein supplements in poultry. It is observed a good integration between the processes of research and formation, which favors the performance of both activities.
