El financiamiento universitario en tiempo de COVID-19. Una mirada desde el Ecuador

Resumen

El financiamiento a la educación superior es un tema demandante por parte de la academia, la sociedad y los gobiernos; por la incidencia que tiene en el desarrollo personal, familiar como de los propios territorios y países. El financiamiento a la educación superior es un tema de muchas aristas y con incidencias multifactoriales, por lo que requiere ser investigado científicamente y con toda la profundidad necesaria. En el presente artículo científico se reflexiona acerca de los problemas y desafíos que suponen el financiamiento a las instituciones de educación superior tanto públicas como privadas en Ecuador, a partir de una valoración de sus antecedentes sobre el tema. Como resultado de dicho análisis, se presentan algunas de las posibles y más significativas propuestas para valorar el déficit presupuestario y poder cumplimentar la misión y objetivos previstos por cada institución de educación superior.

ABSTRACT

Funding for higher education is a demanding issue on the part of academia, society and governments; because of the impact it has on personal, family and territory and country development. The financing of higher education is a topic of many edges and with multifactorial incidences, so it needs to be investigated scientifically and with all the necessary depth. This scientific article reflects on the problems and challenges posed by the financing of both public and private higher education institutions in Ecuador, based on an assessment of their background on the subject. As a result of this analysis, some of the possible and most significant proposals are presented to assess the budget deficit and to be able to fulfill the mission and objectives foreseen by each higher education institution.
