Proyecto Turístico Martín Infierno: contribución al desarrollo turístico sostenible del municipio de Cumanayagua

Resumen

En Cuba, provincia Cienfuegos, municipio de Cumanayagua se encuentra ubicada la cueva Martín Infierno, declarada Monumento Nacional y Elemento Natural Destacado con Significación Nacional, por poseer la estalagmita más grande del mundo, y contar además con otros atractivos. En el contexto actual se lleva a vías de hecho un proyecto de desarrollo local que tiene por nombre: Proyecto Turístico Martín Infierno, y como objetivo: Contribuir al desarrollo turístico sostenible del municipio de Cumanayagua, mediante la implementación de una opcional turística en la Cueva Martín Infierno y su entorno, que observe las acciones de mitigación y resiliencia al cambio climático, fomente el desarrollo rural en la zona donde se ubica el proyecto, y potencie la exportación de servicios. El presente trabajo hace una síntesis del proyecto, abordando aspectos como: beneficios esperados; atractivos identificados; segmentación del mercado; así como las actividades a desarrollar con los turistas.

ABSTRACT

The Martín Infierno cave is located in Cuba, Cienfuegos province, municipality of Cumanayagua. It was declared a National Monument and Outstanding Natural Element with National Significance, for having the largest stalagmite in the world, and also having other attractions. In the current context, a local development project is being carried out that has the name: Martín Infierno Tourist Project, and it has its objective: To contribute to the sustainable tourism development of the municipality of Cumanayagua, through the implementation of a tourist option in the Martín Infierno cave and its surroundings, that observe the mitigation and resilience actions to climate change, promote rural development in the area where the project is located, and promote the export of services. This paper makes a synthesis of the project, addressing aspects such as: expected benefits; identified attractions; market segmentation; as well as the activities to be developed with tourists.
